PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method for a polyarylene sulfide(PAS) whereby the corrosion of a production apparatus and the corrosion of a metal mold during molding are inhibited; and to obtain a PAS which has been improved in quality, especially in the reactivity with an epoxysilane coupling agent, and gives a molded item improved in mechanical strengths. SOLUTION: At any one of steps of purification process after solvent removal, a PAS is purified by bringing it into contact with gaseous carbon dioxide or carbonated water under a pressure higher than 0.1 MPa but not higher than 2.0 MPa at 10-100 deg.C. |
