PURPOSE: A light emitting diode with light emission efficiency and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve light extraction efficiency by forming micro lenses on a transparent electrode layer. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting cells(56) are separately located on a substrate(51). A transparent electrode layer(61) is located on the upper side of each light emitting cell. A wiring(69) electrically connects adjacent light emitting cells. An insulation layer(67) prevents a short between light emitting cells due to wirings. A micro lens(71) is formed on the substrate and the light emitting cells.
