PURPOSE: An overheat check method of a gas range and an over-heating prevention gas range is provided to block the gas supply in the over-heating of a cooker. CONSTITUTION: An over-heating prevention gas range comprises A gas supply pipe, a gas opening and closing part, a cup part(10), a burner head(20), an overheat protection sensor(30) and a controller. The gas opening and closing part opens and closes the gas supply pipe. A through opening is formed in center of the cup part. The burner head is covered with the cup part. A gas inlet, located in center of the burner head, is connected to the gas supply pipe. The overheat protection sensor is touched with the floor side of cooker and measures the temperature of the cooker. The controller receives a closing signal, when the temperature of the cooking cavity is over heated, and closes the gas opening and closing part.
