PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to increase printing performance and to supply printing paper in a short edge feed method or a long edge feed method according to a predetermined printing mode. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(110) receives the input of print data. A printing unit(120) prints the inputted print data. A paper feeding unit(130) supplies printing paper to the printing unit. A controlling unit(180) supplies the printing paper in a long edge feed type or a short edge feed type by control of the paper feeding unit.
