Provided is a karaoke host device which can show an index for the degree to which or whether a karaoke user can sing a newly released song or a song that the user has yet to sing. The karaoke host device includes: a means for dividing, on the basis of information regarding the singing level of the user at each pitch, the full range used for karaoke into a plurality of ranks according to the user's singing level and determining a correction coefficient each divided rank; a means for acquiring music data relating to a song for which an index of singability is to be calculated; a first calculation means for acquiring a total value of lengths of pitches included in the range of each rank of the user; a second calculation means for acquiring a value which is the result of multiplying a value acquired by the first calculation means by the correction coefficient determined for each rank of the user; and a means for calculating an index of singability for the user by dividing the total of the rank values acquired by the second calculation means by the total of the rank values acquired by the first calculation means. |
