PURPOSE: An internal combustion engine is provided to reduce the occupied space of the engine by controlling the arrangement of working parts. CONSTITUTION: An internal combustion engine includes housings(10a, 10b) and working parts(20). The housings include two end surfaces(11, 12) and two longitudinal lateral surfaces(13, 14). The end surfaces form the clutch side and the clutch opposite side of an combustion engine(1). The longitudinal lateral surfaces restrict the housings and connect the end surfaces. The longitudinal lateral surfaces define the widths of the housings. The working parts are in connection with the housings and secure the one or more flow of medium. The working parts are arranged at one or more longitudinal lateral surfaces.
