The joint has a brace (50) that is equipped with four pivots (54). Two covers (24) are connected by the brace. Each of the covers is provided with a set of bores (34, 36) that are arranged longitudinally in a direction of opposing two pins of the brace. A set of bearings (60) permit relative rotational movement between each cover and associated pivots. Each bore of the cover forms a track or sliding path for the bearings. An independent claim is also included for a control device comprising a housing.
