[Also in Division F2] A device for securing and tensioning a strap comprises a double-sided band lever 3, 4, a strap stirrup 2 pivoted near one end of the lever, a strap-clamping pin 6 at that end connecting the lever sides, a frame 5' at the other end interconnecting the lever sides and a strap-clamping rib 7 located adjacent to and parallel to the clamping pin 6, the location and dimensions of the parts being such that when one end of the strap is secured to the stirrup 2 and the other end passed under the clamping pin and round the clamping rib 7, movement of the hand lever can tighten and secure the strap. As shown, the hand lever, in its operative position, is pivoted down on to the first end of the strap which is then engaged in a slot 15 formed by portions 17, 18 of the frame 5'. According to another arrangement Figs. 7-10 (not shown) the second end of the strap is passed between a pair of bars (6), (7') connecting that end of the members 3, 4 and in the arrangement according to Figs. 11 and 12 (not shown) the hand lever is constituted by a sheet metal blank bent and slotted to provide side members (26), (27) slots (29) (30) for the second strap end and a slotted part (28) corresponding to the frame 5'. |
