1,254,953. Filtering. BOWE BOHLER & WEBER K.G. 24 April, 1969 [26 April, 1968], No. 20975/69. Heading BID. [Also in Division D1] Woven or non-woven fibrous goods, e.g. polyester yarn, are dyed or finished with a solution of treating substance, e.g. a dye, which is sparingly soluble in the solvent by adding the substance and an insoluble filter powder to the solvent, feeding the suspension to a precoat filter to form a filtering layer of the substance and powder, and continuously recirculating the filtered solvent through the goods and filter layer. This layer may initially be built up by a recirculation which by-passes the goods-treatment chamber, which latter may be a drum, beam, jigger or reel dyeing device. The solvent may be heated. As shown, solid dyestuff and filter aid are added to hopper 12 and recirculated via filter 1 by pump 6. The filter comprises tabular elements 22 on which the layer is built up. Solvent, e.g. per- or trichloroethylene, is contained in reservoir 10. The goods are container in a rotating drum 21. |
