<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly sphygmomanometer by separately and independently configuring an arm band unit for inserting an upper arm and a body unit. <P>SOLUTION: In the sphygmomanometer, the arm band unit 10 and the body unit 50 are separately and independently configured, and radio communication is made possible. The arm band unit 10 is provided with a control means 31, and when the instruction of the start of blood pressure measurement is performed, initial setting is executed, a display means 51 is inspected, it is confirmed that an inner pressure is not applied to an arm band part 2, a pressure value in the state is set to zero, and then pressure display at the display means 51 is started. Further, after the blood pressure measurement is started, when the output voltage of a battery as a power source part of the arm band part 2 becomes lower than a first stipulated value, a battery exchange mark is flicker-displayed at the display means 51.
