<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer carrier which has only small surface change for a long time and can maintain high picture quality, by increasing surface-layer abrasion resistance and improving lubricity. <P>SOLUTION: The developer carrier has a base substance and a surface layer. The surface layer contains either a high molecular compound having a Si-O-Sr bond or a high molecular compound having a Si-O-Ta bond. The high molecular compound is either a compound having a constitutional unit represented by the general formula (1) and a constitutional unit represented by SrO<SB POS="POST">2/2</SB>, or a compound having a constitutional unit represented by the general formula (1) and a constitutional unit represented by TaO<SB POS="POST">5/2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
