<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device capable of inputting a character by one touch operation on a virtual keyboard having a hierarchical structure. <P>SOLUTION: A character input device includes a touch panel, a screen, and a CPU. The CPU displays a first layer virtual keyboard corresponding to plural characters in a first layer on the screen; displays, on the screen, a second layer virtual keyboard corresponding to a touched key on the first layer virtual keyboard in response to a touch to the key; displays a third layer virtual keyboard on the screen in response to sliding of a finger touching the key when the third layer virtual keyboard corresponding to a key displayed in the sliding direction among keys on the second layer virtual keyboard exists; and determines, as an input character, a character corresponding to a key displayed at a position where the finger is moved off the touch panel when the finger is moved off the touch panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
