<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a xylylenediamine, excellent in terms of equipment, safety and economy. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a xylylenediamine comprises contacting at least one phthalic acid compound selected from the group consisting of phthalic acid compounds, phthalic esters and phthalamides or derivatives thereof with ammonia to obtain a phthalonitrile compound followed by contacting the resultant phthalonitrile compound with hydrogen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
