<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take over data in a cache memory at the time of switching operation in an RAID controller group with redundancy having n levels. <P>SOLUTION: An external shared cache memory for holding data in cache memories on RAID controllers is connected to an IOP on each RAID controller. At the time of operation with the cache memory on one of the RAID controllers active, identical data is written onto the cache memory on the RAID controller and the external shared cache memory. When failure occurs in an RAID controller 1 and the RAID controller 1 needs to be switched to the RAID controller 2, the IOP on the RAID controller 2 duplicates the data in the external shared cache memory onto the cache memory of the RAID controller 2, and then operation starts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
