The method involves determining a target trajectory (ST) for achieving a park position. A relevant trajectory is determined for achieving a relevant park position, and the determined relevant trajectory is taken as the target trajectory. A steering (10) of a vehicle influencing additive guidance moment is generated such that steering movements are supported along the target trajectory, and deviating steering movements are counteracted by the target trajectory. The determined relevant trajectory is displayed to a driver of a vehicle i.e. motor car. An independent claim is also included for a device for assisting a driver of a vehicle during parking maneuvers.
