<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of clamping a fuel cell stack that maintains a stack clamping state in a stable and optimal manner without any problems, such as an irreversible variation in thickness of a gas diffusion layer, lowering in clamping pressure, generation of a tiny gap, and an increase in contact resistance, while the stack is operated. <P>SOLUTION: The method of clamping a fuel cell stack includes: a stack preliminary clamping step of setting and fixing a fastening apparatus so that a clamping pressure is maintained while a clamping pressure is applied using pressure equipment after unit cells are stacked and an end plate is joined; a stack pre-treatment step of advancing a gas flow rate variation cycle in which a flow rate of gas supplied to an anode and a cathode is repeatedly changed in the preliminarily clamped stack or a clamping pressure variation cycle in which the clamping pressure is repeatedly increased and decreased by pressurization and pressure release of the preliminarily clamped stack using the pressure equipment; and a stack main clamping step of correcting a variation amount in the clamping pressure caused due to a variation in thickness of a gas diffusion layer to perform main clamping of the stack, after the stack pre-treatment step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
