<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission system that can increase the degree of freedom in mounting position of electronic shelf label devices (receiving devices) without increasing entire electronic shelf label system costs, and an electronic shelf label system using the power transmission system. <P>SOLUTION: The power transmission system includes the electronic shelf label device having first coupling electrodes (first active electrode and first passive electrode) for coupling each other via an electrostatic field and displaying merchandise information, and the electronic shelf label holding device holding the electronic shelf label device and having second coupling electrodes (second active electrode and second passive electrode), and the electronic shelf label holding device transmits power to the electronic shelf label device in a contactless manner.
