PURPOSE: A device for signal transform and information merging and a method thereof are provided to extend the transmission distance of TMDS(Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) following a digital video interface and HDMI standard, thereby controlling an image source and a display device at one location when the image source is far from the display device. CONSTITUTION: A TMDS receiving unit(100) converts a TMDS into a DC level signal. A mixing unit(200) mixes information in the DC level signal. An LVDS(Low Voltage Differential Signaling) transforming unit(300) converts the DC level signal to an LVDS. A serial converting unit(400) converts the converted signal into serial data for optical communication.
