The system (1) has an image capture device (7) i.e. stereo camera, for detecting a loading station-side position pattern (5). An evaluation/control device (8) is formed such that deviations of a vehicle-side energy reception point (6) to loading station-side energy output location (4) are determined based on the detected position pattern of the image capture device. A steering (10) and/or a brake (11) of a vehicle (3) transmits appropriate control instructions to drive (9) so that energy reception point is automatically aligned at the energy output station. An independent claim is also included for a method for automatically contacting an energy reception point of a vehicle with an energy output location of a loading station.
