APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING LOAD REJECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a load rejection by a simple configuration.

SOLUTION: A sampling delay device 14 inputs a present current value of a generator connected to a turbine to delay the value by a predetermined time, and thereafter outputs the value as a past current value. A subtracter 15 subtracts the present current value from the past current value output from the sampling delay device 14 to calculate a different between both the values. A comparator 16 outputs a predetermined value when the difference calculated by the subtracter 15 is equal to or larger than predetermined deviation or exceeds the predetermined deviation. A delay timer 18 outputs a load rejection detection signal when the predetermined value output from the comparator 16 continues for a predetermined time or longer.
