<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker capable of improving efficiency in heating and cooking of food. <P>SOLUTION: The heating cooker 1 heats and cooks food in a heating chamber 20 by heating inside the heating chamber 20 by a heater 29 and supplying steam into the heating chamber 20 by a steam supply unit 40. At a prescribed temperature of 100°C or lower in the heating chamber 20 after starting to heat inside the heating chamber 20 by the heater 29, a control unit 70 controls to supply steam in a prescribed amount by the steam supply unit 40 into the heating chamber 20. When the temperature in the heating chamber 20 is at a prescribed temperature of 100°C or lower, the food in the heating chamber 20 is not much heated, which means the temperature difference between the food and steam is relatively large.
