The valve (110) has a switching mechanism for optionally shifting the valve from one switching position into another switching position by predetermined actuating pressure depending on oil pressure in a spark-ignition combustion engine. Two working chambers (82, 92) having certain volume (120) are brought in a fluid communication with each other through a fluid groove. The switching mechanism is designed as a ballpoint pen mechanism. Pressures of the fluid, momentary engine speed and/or momentary compression ratio are detected by pressure sensors. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a combustion engine comprising a hydraulically adjustable eccentric-cam device for creating effective connecting rod length (2) a method for controlling a reversing valve.
