In a method of making an electrical contact brush a plurality of wires 10 are aligned in parallel relationship and united at least at one end by solder 12. A plurality of bends 14-22 are formed along the length of the wires and the bent portion is inserted in a tubular brush terminal 24, with the bend 14 remaining outside the terminal to provide the sliding electrical contact. The brushes are precisely aligned in the terminal, the bends 20, 22, providing a friction fit therein, and when aligned are secured as by soldering. The wires are then disunited by cutting away the solder 12. The aperture in which the wires are inserted may be formed diagonally across the width of the united wires so that each wire may have a different length and consequently a different natural frequency. The wires 10 are made of beryllium copper or other suitable material and are preferably of circular crosssection. |
