PURPOSE: A local network configuration apparatus and method thereof are provided to relatively improve a communication speed by reducing network traffic in the communication of a wireless access point. CONSTITUTION: When a first terminal is connected to a wireless AP(Access Point), a group key generating unit(510) creates a network group key related to a local network. A group key providing unit(520) provides the created network group key to the first terminal. In case the input signal of the network group key is confirmed in the second terminal, a network configuration unit(530) permits the participation of the second terminal to the local network.
