FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide, involving: (a) merging, while stirring, sodium hydroxide and hydrochloride of (E)-3-(4-{[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethylamino]methyl]phenyl)methyl acrylate in a solution to obtain a mixture at temperature lower than approximately -10C; and then (b) adding hydroxylamine to the obtained mixture to obtain N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide, optionally followed by (c) crystallisation of N-hydroxy-3-[4-[[[2-(2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl]amino]methyl]phenyl]-2E-2-propenamide and optional (d) extraction of the end product. ^ EFFECT: method reduces formation of by-products and enables to obtain an end product with purity which is suitable for producing medicinal agents. ^ 16 cl, 5 ex |
