FIELD: tobacco industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for formation of a sealed tobacco core with a hollow pith and a device for the method performance. The method involves passing a clipped tobacco column and paper under a pawl whereby the column and paper are expanded and flattened, imparting a cylindrical shape to the tobacco and paper, forming an inner hollow pith, maintaining the hollow pith shape and output of a sealed tobacco core with a hollow pith. ^ EFFECT: technical solution promotes the tobacco product production quality enhancement. ^ 8 cl, 58 dwg
