A gate driver and a method for repairing the same are provided to recover an abnormal stage by supplying an amplified scan pulse to a gate line which is connected to the abnormal stage. A gate driver includes first and second shift registers(SR_L,SR_R), a signal amplifier(270), and first to fourth repairing lines(222a_L,222b_L,222a_R,222b_R). The first and second shift registers have plural first and second output lines which are connected to plural conduction lines, respectively. The signal amplifier amplifies a signal from the outside and outputs the amplified signal. The first and second repairing lines are connected to input and output terminals of the signal amplifier, respectively, and arranged to cross with the first output lines. The third and fourth repairing lines are connected to input and output terminals of the signal amplifier, respectively, and arranged to cross with the second output lines.
