<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new synthetic resin container having an improved beautiful appearance by improving the shape retaining property of a heel. <P>SOLUTION: This PET bottle 1 includes a bottom 5 integrally connected to the lower end of a barrel 4 connected from an opening 2 via a shoulder 3, the bottom 5 forming the heel 5b which is connected to a ground surface 5a while reducing its diameter. At the heel 5b, a plurality of fold-back steps 7 extending in the peripheral direction of the bottom while being folded back to protrude toward the side of the barrel 4 are provided at a space toward the ground surface 5a. The fold-back steps 7 have horizontally long portions 7a extending in the peripheral direction of the bottom 5, respectively.
