The system (10) has a card module (1) comprising a topographic card, and a route determination device (6) connected with the card module and an input and/or output device (3). A computation module (2) is connected with the card module, and determines solar altitudes at a card position. The route determination device determines a target guidance route from a starting point to a target point by considering the solar altitudes, and provides the route to a user using the input and/or output device. The route determination device considers alignment of a motor car to the altitudes. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determining a target guidance route for a motor car (2) a computer program with a program code to perform a method for determining a target guidance route for a motor car.
