Composite lever mechanism for use in devices such as forceps tweezers or clamps, consists of a pair of oppositely placed levers, each composite lever possessing two or more simple levers of the first order hinged together in series, so that each pair of oppositely placed single levers has a common rotational point, while the mechanism forms an integral structure, and the connections between the simple levers and the common rotational points contain regions of preferential bending, around which the levers can rotate in a hinged manner. The composite lever mechanism is suitable for use in a wide variety of devices, such as surgical forceps, photographic or philatelic tweezers, sugar tongs, salad servers, and similar articleS. The device with the lever mechanism is pref. made wholly of plastics, material, such as polypropylene. |
