The method involves transforming a semi-finished product to an inner part (3) of a bipolar plate, where the inner part is to be coupled with a frame part (2) for forming a cathode-sided sub panel (1) of the bipolar plate of a fuel cell stack. A set of channels (4) is formed in the inner part, and a reactant acts on an electrode of a membrane electrode arrangement of a fuel cell over the channels. The frame part and the inner part are separately formed by reshaping the semi-finished product using different reforming procedures e.g. sequence composite procedures. An independent claim is also included for a bipolar plate comprising a frame part.
