<p>A coating and a method are described for producing textured surfaces, with the main object of reducing both aerodynamic and hydrodynamic drag, enhancing performance and reducing fuel consumption. This surface is applied to outer vehicle surfaces and mainly comprises three different layers. A first layer is characterised by a binder (100), a second layer is characterised by a screen (14) and the last layer is characterised by a paint (53). The method basically consists of four different steps. In a first step, a layer of binder is applied to the smooth surface of the vehicle. In a second step, the screen is placed on the surface, and in a third step, three more layers of binder are preferably applied. In the final step, a layer of paint is applied for sealing the textured surface and for aesthetic purposes.</p> |
