The device (2) has a control device (10) for controlling flow rate of coolant i.e. cooling oil, for cooling a wet-running clutch (4) i.e. dual clutch or multi-disk clutch, and comprising a control valve with a control piston that is arranged in a housing. The piston is moved between two positions in which a coolant path is closed and opened, respectively. Another coolant path produces flow connection between a pressure chamber and a coolant outlet (14) in one of the positions of the piston so that the flow rate is produced by a pressurizing agent that flows over the latter path.
