<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting layer, and to provide a device in which the organic light-emitting layer is disposed between an anode and a cathode. <P>SOLUTION: An organic light-emitting layer includes a phosphorescent material, and a triphenylene compound or a compound having a repeating unit having a triphenylene moiety. The triphenylene can be optionally substituted. The substituents may be the same or different and each substituent is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, fused aryl, substituted aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl, and heteroalkyl.
