The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for controlling software management, and more particularly, to a method and apparatus for controlling software management, which perform various controls, for example, the compulsorily logoff of a user terminal that is logged into software being operated by a central server but that is not in use, for a plurality of computer terminals for business use connected to the local area network (LAN) of a company. The method and apparatus of the present invention perform the above-described controls by enabling the central server to provide a control message for controlling processes being performed on the user terminal. The method and apparatus of the present invention control computer terminals such that inactive terminals, that is, terminals which are logged into the software provided by the central server but which are not in use over a predetermined period of time, are monitored and compulsorily logged off, thereby enabling more users to login to the software and use the software in an efficient manner. |
