<p>This video distribution system distributes digitally-captured videos, and is provided with an imaging device, a server, and a playback terminal. The imaging device comprises an imaging unit that captures video from every direction using a wide-angle lens, and a control unit that sends a group of frame data constituting the video captured by the imaging device to the server. The server comprises: a calculation unit that divides the image represented by each frame datum within the group of frame data from the image capture device into multiple regions, converts the image in each region into a normal image, and obtains a group of partial data by region; a storage unit that stores the group of frame data from the image capture device, and stores the group of partial data by region; and a control unit that selects the group of video frame data requested by the terminal device and the groups of partial data for the regions requested by the terminal device in relation to the video from the storage unit, and sends the groups to the terminal device. The terminal device comprises: a display that plays back video; an attitude sensor that detects rotation angle information of the terminal device; and a control unit that sends information identifying regions specified by a user to the server on the basis of information identifying video to be played back and the rotation angle information related to the video.</p> |
