<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas circuit breaker capable of efficiently cutting off high current and medium to low current. <P>SOLUTION: A machine puffer chamber 32 is arranged in series with a heat puffer chamber 21 of a puffer-type gas circuit breaker. The heat puffer chamber 21 is provided with a partition member 41 for radially dividing the chamber. A selector valve 42 as gas flow control means is provided between an arc space 31 and the heat puffer chamber 21. A movable valve 23 is provided between the heat puffer chamber 21 and the machine puffer chamber 32. When cutting off high current, high-temperature, high-pressure arc-extinguishing gas supplied from the arc space 31 is flown through an outer peripheral space 62 to an inner peripheral space 61 of the partition member 41, and then blown at an arc by the selector valve 42. When cutting off medium to low current, arc-extinguishing gas from the machine puffer chamber 32 is guided only into the inner peripheral space 61 of the partition member to be blown at an arc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
