<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal storage device in which heat generated by a compressor can be passed to all of a heat storage material in a thermal storage tank, and an air conditioner employing the thermal storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal storage device which is arranged so as to surround a compressor, and which is for storing heat generated by the compressor, is provided with: a thermal storage tank which accommodates a heat storage material for storing the heat generated by the compressor; and a thermal-storage heat exchanger, which is accommodated in the thermal storage tank. The cross-section area of the base section of the part of the thermal storage tank wherein there is heat storage material is set to be smaller than the cross-section area which is in the vicinity of the liquid-surface of the heat storage material, and thus the heat generated by the compressor can be efficiently passed to all of the heat storage material in the thermal storage tank. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
