<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for sealing a coldhead sleeve of a refrigerant cooling-type magnetic resonance imaging system. <P>SOLUTION: The systems and methods for self-sealing the coldhead sleeve of the magnetic resonance imaging system are provided. One coldhead sleeve arrangement (40) includes a coldhead sleeve (30) configured to receive therein a coldhead (28) of the MRI system and having an open end (34).
