<p>Provided is a touch input device made capable of detecting both pressing position and pressing pressure during a pressing operation, without complicating the structure thereof. A piezoelectric sheet (3) provided in a touch panel (1) is equipped with a split electrode (4) having a plurality of electrode sections (4a-4d). A coordinate grid is set in the touch panel (1), and voltage produced in each electrode section by a pressing operation caused by a prescribed weighting of each grid point is pre-stored in a recording unit (104) as a basic voltage. During actual use, a detection unit (102) detects actually measured voltage produced in each electrode section by a pressing operation. A calculation unit (103) calculates the ratio of the measured voltage to the basic voltage, and the average and standard deviation thereof are requested. In order of smallest standard deviation, the actually operated pressing position coordinates are requested from, for example, four grid point coordinates, and the pressing pressure is requested by multiplying the ratio and the weighting at the grid point having the smallest standard deviation.</p> |
