<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable smooth input of a character string. <P>SOLUTION: An information terminal 10 includes a storage unit 11 and a retrieval unit 12. The storage unit 11 stores information indicating plural character strings, and information indicating pronunciation and a shape of each of plural characters used in the plural character strings. The retrieval unit 12 obtains first input indicating at least part of one of the pronunciation and the shape of a character, and extracts character string candidates including a first character matching the first input.
