The present disclosure relates to a method and device for controlling the switching network traffic. The method comprises the following steps: monitoring the length of a unicast virtual output queue and a multicast virtual output queue in real time, and when the length of one of the said queues exceeds a congestion threshold, generating a congestion indication signal and adding a congestion identifier to the header of every cell of the corresponding output port (S101); monitoring in real time whether there is any cell entering/leaving the congestion queue, wherein if it does, transmitting a notification message of cell entering/leaving queue (S102); determining whether the number of the cells entering the congestion queue reaches a pre-determined threshold according to the notification message of cell entering/leaving queue, wherein if it does, adding an indication signal of effective link level traffic control to the header of every cell output by the corresponding output port (S103). The device comprises a congestion-monitoring module and a counter-pressure module. The present disclosure solves the problem that the existing solution method is unreasonable in solving the problem of congestion in unicast/multicast modes. |
