APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING COVERAGE EXPANSION OF COMPACT CELL IN HETEROGENEOUS NETWORK SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A device for supporting a coverage expansion of a small cell in a heterogeneous network system and a method thereof are provided to support coverage expansion of a small cell without changing 3GPP LTE Release 8/9 standards. CONSTITUTION: When the total amount of required terminal resources is larger than the maximum capacity of FA1(Frequency Assignment1), a small base station determines the amount of required resources of a terminal which communicates using FA2(1505,1507). When the total amount of required terminal resources is smaller than the maximum capacity of FA2, the small base station arranges terminals which communicates with FA1 in the order in which RSRP(Reference Signal Received Power) of FA1 is smaller(1511,1513). The small base station changes FA of a terminal of the smallest FA1 RSRP to FA2(1515).
