A solar assisted land based shading frame 1, constituted of main piping 2, each with an extension 3, to a ratchet or equivalent mechanism 4, and support piping 5 to the main piping is conjoined at 6, shading material 7 with a storage roller unit 8 having a weatherproof covering 9. The edge of the shading material runs within a slot in the piping and is constrained in place. The ratchet allows the shading frame to be rotated around any angle between horizontal and vertical allowing the focus of the shading to be altered e.g. in a greenhouse, sapling nurseries or over ice or water. A solar array is provided to power the deployment mechanism, preferably on the shade material. Additional strengthening piping 10 may be attached to a central support 11. Additional piping may support sprinklers. Solar cells (31 Fig 10) may be positioned on the shade material. The pulley or draw wire 19, may be located in the piping and moved by a series of rollers 20. Another embodiment (Fig 3) has two or more stretchers that force the material to spread, a runner (13) moves up and down a bar and is held in place with a top spring (14) to alter than angle of the shade. |
