The method involves contacting a thermoplastic part (12) of a motor vehicle against a surface (16) of another thermoplastic part (10) of the vehicle, where the part (12) is arranged such that the angle between a normal vector at the surface of the part (10) and a normal vector at a gripping surface of the part (12) is null and acute and the gripping surface is close to a protrusion (18) e.g. tongue, of the part (10). The protrusion is heated, and is plastically deformable towards the part (12) such that an end portion (26) of the protrusion is in contact with the gripping surface. An independent claim is also included for a thermoplastic parts assembly for a motor vehicle. |
