The motor vehicle steering geometry equipment provides an indication of camber, caster king-pin angle and toe-in. The equipment consists of a box beam at one end of which is mounted an indicator scale (58). The scale is attached to one face of an enclosure (12) containing an optical system. This comprises a pendulum mirror with magnetic damping and a filament lamp. The image of the filament is reflected by the tilting mirror onto the indicator scale. The enclosure is pivotted so that it may operate at right-angles to the beam or parallel with it depending on the nature of the measurement. The beam carries a bracket and clamping arrangement by which it may be attached to the vehicle wheel. The beam carries a small projector and scale for use in toe-in measurements. |
