<p>Hydrophobic, organophilic products are prepd. by reaction of solid insoluble Si cmpd. (I) with a (mono)phenol (II). (I) is esp. amorphous silica, alumino-silica or a silicate, (II) is esp. C6H5OH. Used as adsorbents in chromatography, additives for rubbers, plastics, resins, elastomers, paints, inks, thickeners for oils and greases, heat- and hydrolysis stable dressing for fibres and glass fibres, for removal of coagulants and precipitants from petrol, and as thixotropic agents for polyester resins, epoxy resins, paints and varnishes.</p> |
