PURPOSE: A method for preparing olmesartan medoxomil with less impurity is provided to easily remove impurity and to prepare olmesartan medoxomil of high purity and high yield. CONSTITUTION: An olmesartan medoxomil of chemical formula 1 is prepared using a novel intermediate of chemical formula 2. In chemical formulas 1 and 2, R is trimethyl silyl, t-butyldimethyl silyl, or t-butyldiphenyl silyl. The used silyl compound is N,O-bis- (trimethylsilyl)acetamide, trimethylchlorosilan, hexa-methyldisilazane, tert-butyldimethylsilylchloride, or tert-butyldiphenylsilylchloride. The used crystallization solvent is methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, or butyl alcohol and acetonitrile.
