PURPOSE: A color correction retinex method using an HDC(Hierarchical Discrete Correlation) is provided to improve the speed of an LPF(Low Pass Filter) progress by applying a monotone increasing function to MSR(Multi-Scale Retinex) output step. CONSTITUTION: A brightness signal is extracted from a color video(S110). A gauss function and a HDC are applied into the extracted brightness signal. The filtered HDC output is acquired through a LPF progress(S120). An MSR(Multi-Scale Retinex) output is acquired through the SSR(Single-Scale Retinex) of the HDC output and a MSR processing(S130). A monotone increasing function is applied to the MSR output(S140).
