A jig for installing a timing chain of an engine is provided to assist to readily pass the timing chain with a chain guide and a tension arm through a hole of a cylinder head with the tension arm maintaining a certain posture. A jig for installing a timing chain of an engine includes a first lever arm(7), a second lever arm(13), a torsion spring(15), and a chain support member. The first lever arm has a projection(5) rotatably inserted into a tension arm. The second lever arm has a projection(11) rotatably inserted into a chain guide, and is hinged to the first lever arm. The torsion spring resiliently supports the first lever arm and the second lever arm in a direction that a distance between the projection of the first lever arm and the projection of the second lever arm is closed to each other. The chain support member is connected to the first lever arm and the second lever arm.
